I take a relaxed, down-to-earth approach to my practice, and there’s really no topic that’s off-limits. I’m a big believer in the mental health benefits of spending time in nature, and I’m always up for a laugh—plus, I’m not fazed by a bit of swearing. With a long background in the performing arts, I have a deep understanding of the pressures, anxieties, and other mental health challenges that can come with high-stress environments. I’m especially passionate about supporting people at the end of life, but I’m equally dedicated to helping anyone work toward a sense of peace and purpose, wherever they are on their journey.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on my training in Person-Centred Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Existential Therapy. With over 35 years of experience in the arts and a more recent background as a counsellor in the Alcohol and Other Drug sector, I bring a wealth of diverse experiences to my practice.
I grew up in Australia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Saudi Arabia, and have travelled extensively around the world. These experiences, along with my work in remote Aboriginal communities and Indonesia, have fostered a broad worldview and a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and differing belief systems, and a profound compassion for the human condition.
